FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I heat it?

Easy. Microwave frozen burritos for 3 minutes on high. Then wait a couple minutes. If you’re oven-curious, remove burritos from their container, wrap in foil, and cook at 350⁰ for 45 minutes. Bowls in the microwave require a stir after three minutes then another minute or two.

How do I eat it?

With your mouth. But after it’s cooled. We just tear off the perforated strip and go to town but feel free to experiment! We’ve heard it makes a great centerpiece on a plate surrounded by veggies and/or fruit…

How is it delivered?

We deliver on Tuesdays and Fridays. Order by 5PM on Monday for Tuesday delivery and by 5PM on Thursday for Friday delivery. Don’t hesitate to reach out via e-mail with any scheduling issues or requests! When we drop off we’ll alert you with a knock, doorbell ring, and/or a text via our delivery app.

What if I’m not home when you arrive?

Feel free to put a cooler on your porch! Sous Casa burritos should be fine for a couple hours in there.. but feel free to reach out via e-mail with any special instructions for delivery day!

So you donate burritos too?

Yes! Local nonprofits, churches, and other organizations receive frozen burritos every week, and we hope to continue adding outlets to share the love. Sous Casa Richmond’s minimum commitment is set at one burrito per order, but we are going to find ways to donate more than that….!

Can we provide feedback or recipe suggestions?

Sous Casa would love to hear from you and are happy to consider any suggestions you have. Also be sure to check out our vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free options.

What makes your burritos so good?

#1 Freshness. We focus on making our burritos as delicious as possible, then getting them to you as quickly as possible. Other frozen burritos are made to withstand months in the freezer before you even have a chance at them. If we do our job properly, your frozen burritos won’t last weeks, much less months in your freezer.

#2 Sous Casa’s burrito recipes are thoroughly tested and approved by Jim Hamilton and his team of talented chefs. Jim’s a rock star in the kitchen and cooks for rock stars like Beyonce/Jay Z, Jon Bon Jovi, and Phish.

How Spicy is Spicy?

Depends on the jalapeños we have that day (each batch is totally different) but we try to balance making your meal accessible with a kick. If you like spicy, we’ve got you covered.

Would my kids like this?

Sure kids can be picky, but they love our food. Our meals are quick, well-balanced and great for breakfast, lunch or dinner. (But maybe stay away from the spicy options).

Who’s making the food and where?

Jim Hamilton and his team of local chefs craft our meals at Hatch Kitchen, a fully stocked and licensed commercial kitchen in Manchester. Jim’s ANSI and ServSafe Manager certified and we’re permitted through the Virginia Department of Health. So yep, we’re legit.

Where are your Nutritional Facts?

Soon we’ll have packaging with ingredients, nutritional facts, and allergen warnings.

What’s the deal with Gluten Free tortillas?

We use BeFree Sweet Potato Wraps for our GF burritos. The kitchen in which we operate is not certified GF, but we are diligent about ensuring that our GF burritos are rolled on surfaces completely cleaned and sanitized of any contaminants.
